"D700 + Battery Grip or D3"

Dubai, AE

Dear All,

I wanted to buy a D3 this summer, but now with the D700 I am a bit confused - where is the advantage of the D3 over the D700/Grip combo?

I understand that the D3 may have a higher quality body and a bigger viewfinder (nice!). Maybe the processing power of the CAM 3500 is better in 51 AF mode?

On the other hand: The D700 seems to have all features of the D3 plus anti-dust and the built-in flash (which I like quite a lot for the CLS).

Am I missing anything? Doesn't it make the (great!) D3 look a bit expensive?

Thank you,
Oliver

i agree. as dp review pointed out, the option to remove the grip makes the camera more versatile without giving up much in the way of performance. it's like the D2X/D300 dilemma all over again, except with FX.
