Hello, After reviewing the manual, and two books I have on Nikon 7000, I cannot find how to switch back to using only card slot 1 (with card slot 2 as overflow). I can't even format card in slot 1 because I'm apparently stuck on card slot 2 when I changed once. When I try, it says this option is "not available with current settings".
So, folks, how do I go back to simply using card slot 1 so I can format my full card?
I know, this should be simple, but after an hour, I must be missing something.

Hi Willard,
With both cards in follow instructions on page 32 or 236 of the manual. If that doesn't work, try removing both cards and then put 1 card in slot one to see if you can format the card and then do the same for the other card in slot 2. Check your manual pages 85 and particularly 86 regarding setting the image quality for slot 1. Hopefully, this will help unless there is a problem with the cards or low battery. Good luck.

It sounds like the card you have in slot 1 may be defective or have a problem. You might try switching the two cards in addition to trying the suggestions in John's message. This should be fairly easy to solve. Best of luck!
