Combining still photography of very high image quality -at least at the D90 level- with a D5000’s D-Movie Mode to record HD movie clips (1280 x 720) at a cinematic 24 frames per second with sound and automated VR kicking in, will surely lure in a lot of enthusiasts.
Welcome.

Wow! Thanks for the new forum! Following all those D5000 threads everywhere as people tried to figure out where to post them was already getting to be difficult, and the thing had only been out for a day!

Now, why not put the D90 over here too, so D5000 and D90 folks have someplace in common to talk about their movies? And to have someplace where what somebody has called "advanced-entry-level-camera" folks (those Nikon SLR newbies migrating from their P&S's to the D90) to have a great open forum in which to linger in Nikonians as long as they want before finally pulling the trigger?

Oops! Now for the nit-picking. Why not put this forum in the Master your Nikon Camera list between the D40/D50/D60 forum and the D70/D80/D90 forum? That would help folks confused by Nikon's numbering system understand approximately where this camera fits on the continuum from designed-with-P&S-enthusiasts-in-mind to designed-with-hard-core-professionals in mind.
