Interesting, Mansurov's reckons the sensor is the same as D3200 but Tech Radar reckons it's different...

Nikon UK says the D5200's sensor is 24.71 million pixels, 24.1 effective, 6000x4000 pixels and 23.5 x 15.6 mm. The D3200's is 24.7 million pixels, 24.2 effective, 6016x4000 pixels and 23.2 x 15.4mm.

Sounds like they're different.

Could be the same actual sensor just been tweaked by Nikon a bit to get the higher ISO's, as opposed to the D3200, theres always a bit of extra sensor around the edges, some use it all some don't, Nikon obviously decided that a 24 Mp imager should be exactly that
