When AF area mode is set to auto area, I understand the camera (in this case a D90) selects the focus point. Why when reviewing in VNX, if I select show focus point, do multiple focus points appear?

Hi Suzy,
I'll be watching this one with increased attention. I've noticed the same thing when I used my bundled VNX. You probably already know that you can turn that feature off. (top left of VNX screen, first line of icons, click on 'Focus Point', next to 'Nikon Transfer') that toggles that option on/off. Hope this helps.

Thanks Terry.
I realise I can turn the focus point on/off. I was more interested to know if more than one focus point was used.
I started wondering about it when I was looking at where I had focussed in single point. As it turns out if I (or anyone else ) focus and then recompose, apparently the focus point that was used is shown not what you actually focussed on (which makes sense when I think about it but isn't that useful as far as I can see).

I think you want to see the focus point that was actually used---so you can tell if it is what you intended, or as an explanation of why another area is out of focus.
