"How do I get rid of the data on my LCD screen?"

How do I get rid of the data on my LCD screen?I'd like to see the picture. Been through the menues and can't find how to eliminate the data. It says NIKON D700 and 100-27 below the picture which is below a black box with picture data obscuring the picture.I know this is a doumb question. I'm not yet very familiar with my new to me D700. Thanx jim

Just push the rotating wheel down until only the picture is seen.

That does not do it. Is there something I press(or do) before rotating the dial. I tried both front and rear. jim
