I also noticed what appears to me to be new lenses listed in the gallery for the D700 digitutor. Of course, I'm not an expert on the Nikon inventory... but I didn't recall seeing a AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor ED 105mm F2.8 (IF), before.

I have had the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor ED 105mm F2.8 (IF) for over a year.
Shoot nature with respect and don't trample it or startle its inhabitants.

That was really useful. Thanks! After reading the manual and looking at that site, I feel that I am ready to run as soon as I get my battery charged and turn it on.

Thanks, I also downloaded the manual for the D700 and have been reading it over so I am ready, like the others, for this new tool. I am ordering a GPS unit and MC35 so I can now pinpoint my image taking(I don't know why I had not pursued this before, as I have been lucky to purchase (used) D2HS and D2X which will also use GPS), as I want this in my image metadata. My recent wonderful trip with the Nikonians workshop in Moab, Utah was terrific, I only wish I had used a GPS on that trip for my images, as we traveled around a good bit in that canyonland area, and although I have my images sorted by a.m/p.m/date, I wish I had lat/long/alt for my images.
Looking forward to my D700 and GPS unit, and to use FF with my new Nikon 24mm TCE tilt shift lens, I'll be in heaven(and actually get 24mm FL, no crop, "real" wide angles). Debra
