Lots of old pilings like these throughout the Delta...once a dock or tie downs for boats cruising thru the area. Had a major storm chasing me as I headed east back to Lodi and the subject material here with a very ominous sky looked like good material for black and white conversion with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.

I've been playing around with higher f stops and steadying the camera on a nearby object to handle the slower shutter speeds. Lots of subjects like this to practice with.

Hey Mark
This is just a straight conversion of a jpg image to black and white with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2, adjusted curves and sharpened a bit. I knew the sky and dark as it was and the wood posts would work well in black and white. As I've said before...there are a dozen ways you could present this in black and white. This is a bit harder look but it seeme to work ok with the subject matter.

Thanks Charlie
I've been looking for more subjects to work with in black and white...Old buildings, rock formations, scenes like this in the Delta. Still getting the hang of how to present it once it's converted...lots of options.
