Hi... New member looking for help.
I have a D80 and I am experiencing some problems with it.
When taking photos in any mode, the camera seems to "lock up" after a few shots. The green light remains on, and the camera sounds like it is taking more photos, but actually it is not.
To get it to work again, i have to take out the battery and put in again.
I've tried cleaning the memory card contact points but no difference.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Please advise.

Have you tried a different memory card? Is your memory card on the list of approved cards found in the camera manual? Have you
re-formatted the card in camera?

While it may be a problem with the camera itself, if the problem occurs with the same memory card over and over, a card change is the cheapest way to help diagnose the cause and confirm or eliminate the card itself being the problem.

Ditto What Charlie said. On myd80, Have had to reformat card throughthe menu, holding the buttons does not seem to work the same way

Are you saying that reformatting via the menu gives a different result to holding down the two format buttons? Does anyone know if this is true for other Nikon DSLRs?
